Cube Digital Piano

---

SK 5000H Cube Digital Piano

Limited Space Or Budget?
Not a problem. The exact same piano as the Metropolitan and Cosmopolitan grands is available in the ‘Cube’ shape (model no.SK-5000H). Perfect for small apartments and homes where space is limited. The Cube comes with exactly the same control panel and audio jacks as the Metropolitan and Cosmopolitan. Imagine the same entertainment possibilities, features and sounds as the digital grands, but just in a different cabinet!
Real Weighted Hammer Action Keyboard with the Feel of a Grand Piano
Kohler digital pianos feature a real weighted hammer action keyboard resulting in graded key resistance across the length of the keyboard. Just like a grand piano, the keyboard has a heavier action in the bass and lighter action as you play upward, giving you a real piano feel.  There is also a choice of six touch controls (light, medium, heavy etc) which allow you to dictate the key response to suit your playing style, the character of the piece you wish to play, or the nature of the selected sound.
Korg Sound
The Kohler digital pianos all employ Korg’s AI2 Synthesis System for its digital processing, including the tone generator, filters, amplifiers and effects units.  Korg instruments and the AI2 Synthesis System are praised by professional musicians around the world for their superior sound. Likewise, the Kohler digitals are highly regarded because the use of Korg’s system ensures the highest quality sound with absolutely no signal loss or deterioration in audio quality.
The AI2 Synthesis System is based on Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) technology, the most common method of encoding an analog instrument sound into a digital sound.   Since its introduction in Korg’s synthesizers, the AI2 Synthesis System has received praise from musicians and artists throughout the world.  Similarly, Kohler digitals deliver a richness and variety of sound at a level of excellence that meets or exceeds the quality of audio CDs.
Powerful-Sounding Speaker System
The  speaker system is designed to accurately convey the depth and spaciousness of an acoustic grand piano.
Three Pedals for Maximum Expressive Power
Fixed damper, soft, and sostenuto pedals are provided. To add to the dynamics of your playing the Kohler digitals support half-pedaling, a technique where you only slightly depress the damper or soft pedals for a wide range of tonal possibilities. The function of the sostenuto pedal can also be changed to one of twenty-eight functions such as rhythm start/stop, fill/intro/ending, mute, reverb, fade in/out, making your performances more polished.
Extensive Range Of Sounds That Only A Digital Piano Can Provide
Kohler digitals are furnished with 332 sounds, all created from Korg’s professional AI2 sound synthesis system.  In addition to nineteen different piano sounds (!), the Koehler's boast a selection of electric piano, organ, flute/sax, brass, strings, guitar, bass, percussion and synthesizer sounds. You can choose to split these across the keyboard with different sounds in high and low ranges, or layer them for rich, new tones.  The possibilities do not end there. You can download extra sounds from disks or the internet, or connect MIDI compatible equipment to expand your instrument options.
Rhythms
There are 152 set rhythms in eight style groups, 8/16 beat, dance, latin, ballroom, trad, jazz/funk, R&B/Rock and World.  There are also 64 user rhythm buttons so you can create your own custom rhythms, or save your favourite beats from another source onto a disk and transfer them to the piano.  The Kohler digitals also come with 676 percussion instruments in banks titled GM Kit 1, GM Kit 2, Room Kit, Power Kit, Brush Kit 1, Orchestra Kit, Percussion Kit, Laati Perc. Kit, Arabian Kit, SFX Kit, Techno Kit and Rock Kit.  By selecting one of the banks, each of the related percussion instruments will be assigned to a note on the keyboard. This allows you to play (or pre-record) a cymbal crash, timpani roll etc and add rhythmic panache to any performance.
Create Accomplished Performances
Frequently used keyboard or panel settings can be saved in presets, called registration buttons, for instant recall when desired.  Store fifteen different registrations onto the hard drive and then save more banks on disk. This function allows you to make complicated sound changes easy, with the press of a single registration button in the middle of your performance.
Transport Yourself Into A Concert Hall Atmosphere
There are thirteen different types of reverb to create the illusion that you are playing in different acoustical spaces, for example Concert Hall, Large Room, Live Stage and more. There are also twenty-four different types of Chorus effects.  Create a sensation of rich spaciousness, or distortion to give the sound a Rock ‘n Roll character with the variety of chorus effects available, including Stereo delay, Cross Delay, Quad Chorus, Enhancer, Exciter and Rotary Speaker.
Vocalise Your Music

The Kohler digitals all have a mic jack and come complete with a bonus microphone and lead. Plug in the microphone and use the fantastic sound system to amplify your voice. Perfect for piano lounge artists and entertainers.

People at home can also enjoy this feature by downloading karaoke MIDI files onto disk. The piano will play by itself and you and your friends just read (or hopefully sing!) the lyrics as they move across the LCD screen.  Sound like a professional using the built-in mic effects. There are eleven vocal effects such as garage reverb, arena reverb, echo, vibrato and more
Full Ensemble Sound
With a generous 64-notes of polyphony, you will have plenty of notes for a full ensemble or orchestra piece.  Your performances will not be interrupted, even when using the sustain pedal.
Effortless Operation
The touch-panel LCD screen lets you select or modify sounds and accompaniment styles by simply touching words or images displayed on the screen. Some digital pianos have complicated screens and almost require a licence to drive them!  However the Kohler digitals are designed so you can spend less time reading the manual, and more time playing and enjoying your music.
Multi-Track Recording
This function will appeal to performers and entertainers who wish to pre-record their backing tracks or part of the accompaniment. Up to eight different layers can be recorded on top of each other to create a full sound. The volume of individual parts and sounds can be adjusted with the Mixer function.
MIDI file song editing
You can edit Standard MIDI files. For example you may wish to take out some parts or reduced their volume.  This is convenient when you wish to mute the melody part and improvise with your own vocal line, or mute the left or right hand of a piano performance and hear your own playing
Expansion Possibilities
The Kohler digitals all have output jacks (L/Mono, R), input jacks (L/Mono, R), MIDI In, MIDI Out and PC (To Host) connectors. Using the output jacks you can connect the piano to audio equipment to record, or link it into your surround sound system to really impress! The input jacks are useful if you want to ramp up the sound of smaller audio devices, such as your CD player, or perhaps plug in a synthesizer and use the piano’s speakers. The MIDI In is useful for connecting MIDI compatible devices such as keyboards, synthesizers, sequencers, rhythm machines etc to increase the sound and drum options in your performances.  The MIDI out is used when you want the Kohler digital to control an external MIDI device. The PC (To Host) connector is useful
Bonus Song Selection & Accessories
Each Kohler digital piano comes with an bonus “SMF Starter Pack” with twenty Standard MIDI file songs, free of charge.  Choose from the set compilations or choose your own twenty songs on the www.bandtrax.com.au website, valued at up to $280.

Anyone Can Set The Stage In Their Own Home!
Regardless of your musical experience, anyone can enjoy performing on Kohler digitals.  There are a number of short-cuts and features that make sounding like a professional, absolutely effortless!
Automatic accompaniment- hit one note or a chord and the piano will create its own bass line and accompaniment to make you sound fantastic!
Built-in demo songs and a disk drive to save your own selections– no need to play at all if you don’t want to because the piano will play by itself!  Great for those times when you want to impress your guests but you are too busy preparing a gourmet meal!
Easy to learn demo songs – you can mute the left or right hand part in the piano demo songs to learn them more quickly.  This enables you to just hear and practice the part you want to learn.  Later you can turn it down and practice along with the other part.  You can also slow down the tempo of the part until you become proficient.
Song and step recording – use the record function to master those difficult pieces.  If there is a difficult passage for example, you can just record your left hand playing the bass part.  Then you can play back the recording and practice your right hand over and over until you are ready to put both hands together.  You can even turn down the speed of your recording until your other hand catches up.
Metronome – If you wish to play with an accurate tempo, it is convenient to use the metronome.  You can adjust the speed, the volume and the time signature (1/4, 2/4, 3./4, 4/4, 5/4)
Play Piano button - Do you just want a piano sound quickly and easily?  Press the ‘Play Piano’ button to return to a simple ‘Grand Piano 1’ setting along the entire keyboard.
Ensemble button – Pressing the Ensemble button automatically adds harmony to the notes that you play, making it sound like you are performing with a group of musicians!  Choose from ten different ensemble types, including duet, octave, fourths and more.
Single Touch button – When the Single Touch button and any of the rhythm buttons are pressed, the piano automatically selects keyboard sounds, split, layer, ensemble and automatic accompaniment to suit that musical style.  For example, create a perfect Big Band, Reggae or perhaps Dixieland atmosphere with the press of just two buttons.
Transpose function – when you wish to play a song that is written in a difficult key (too many sharps or flats), or perhaps you need to tune to another instrument or accompany a vocalist, the Kohler digital will transpose for you.
Help function – Can’t find the manual quickly?  Not a problem.  You can view a simple explanation of the major Kohler functions on the LCD screen.  Just press the screen with your finger to select the item and use the page-left and right arrow buttons to move through the explanations.
